Serve as the main point of contact for local and international clients and tax authorities
Build and maintain strong client relationships based on a thorough understanding of their structures, transactions and circumstances
Lead tax compliance for complex clients, including review of computations, returns and refund claims
Apply Maltese tax legislation, double taxation treaties, EU directives and international tax principles to client matters
Advise on restructurings, complex transactions and tax-effective solutions, including identifying and managing tax risks
Maintain a productive working relationship with the Inland Revenue Department
Lead, manage and develop the tax team, overseeing delegation, supervision and accountability
Review team output, provide coaching and guidance, and support recruitment and performance management
Coordinate workflows and resources to ensure timely and efficient delivery
Uphold internal policies, procedures and due diligence requirements
Contribute to training initiatives, technical knowledge sharing and process improvements
Stay current on local and international tax developments
Requirements
MQF level 7 qualification in a relevant subject
Minimum 6 years of experience in Tax, with proven team leadership experience
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Strong understanding of macro-economic issues, regulatory requirements, taxation strategies, double tax treaties, and tax matters including income tax, indirect tax, personal and corporate tax
In-depth knowledge of Malta's tax law, double tax treaties, EU directives and international tax developments, and their practical application
Ability to apply tax knowledge creatively to achieve the most advantageous fiscal outcomes for clients
Detail-oriented with strong time and task management skills
