Senior Design Manager, Retail Stores

Wayfair is seeking a Senior Manager to build and manage projects with its Retail Store Design team in support of its physical retail agenda. The role develops retail design partner relationships, translates cross-functional inputs into store concepts, and oversees design strategy, project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications across multiple brands and sites.

Responsibilities:

• Develop strategy for designing and project managing the concepting and architecture drawings for a brand of physical retail stores. Scope includes: store footprints, fixture development, maintain architecture partnerships, etc
• Translate store design process into executable plan and timeline to support numerous stakeholders including: brand, visual merchandising, operations, safety and facilities
• Build and maintain a robust network of architects and millworkers to support design across the store
• Partner with the Store teams to ensure design supports and enhances brand, marketing, merchandising, store operations, etc
• Work with Real Estate, Builds and Stores leadership to set clear objectives and timelines for design by brand and by site
• Craft design process that supports initial and iteration of design based on key business learnings
• Manage robust project management timeline, design budget and communications to relevant stakeholders

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 8+ years in general business, spatial design or project management
• Demonstrated business experience, including experience in project management and large-scale physical retail design
• Strong business management skills; demonstrated ability to create and lead important strategic initiatives amongst internal and external stakeholders
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders at the same time
• Ability to implement strategic plans and drive results with multiple teams and stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced learning environment
• Senior stakeholder management; able to collaborate across all levels of the organization to achieve objectives
