Enterprise Sales Representative/ Technical Sales Specialist - Federal Sales East

Spectra Logic is a privately owned data protection company that develops tape libraries, backup systems, secondary storage, and hybrid storage platforms. The company is seeking an Enterprise Sales Representative/Technical Sales Specialist to combine technical expertise with product sales, build customer and partner relationships, and cover the federal market across the DC area and eastern seaboard.

Responsibilities:

• You will use your technical knowledge and relationship-building skills to work with vendors, partners, and system integrators to deliver optimal solutions for customers

Requirements:

• Relocation assistance is not available. Only candidates based in Northern Virginia will be considered
• 50% travel to customer sites in the DC area and eastern seaboard
• A long term selling background in the DC area in Storage will be a requirement
• Your sales experience must cover selling tape storage, object storage, data archiving and backup

• ·    5+ years in a pre-sales or similar customer-facing technical role
• ·    Experience in High Performance Computing (HPC)
• ·    Familiarity with cloud-based protocols, services, and terminology
• ·    Knowledge of parallel file systems (e.g., Lustre, GPFS)
• ·    Experience with archive storage solutions
• ·    Federal market experience
• ·    Strong planning and time management skills
• ·    Understanding of cloud data storage concepts
• ·    Ability to articulate the value proposition of a solution
• ·    Familiarity with the data storage, backup software and data archives
• ·    Knowledge of HPC workflows and ecosystem
• ·    Working knowledge of S3, ObjectStorage, NAS systems and ZFS
• ·    Understanding of backup and archive methodologies
• ·    Exposure to data migration strategies; scripting experience is a plus
• ·    Knowledge of storage arrays, networking protocols, and multi-platform enterprise connectivity
• ·    Strong writing, verbal, and presentation skills
• ·    Experience networking with partners, resellers, and end users
• ·    Ability to create and manage quotes, revenue tracking, and gross profit analysis
• ·    Experience with prospecting, lead generation, and developing sales timelines
• Alternate: Degree in another field with relevant technical experience
• Preferred: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical/business field
