Founding Account Executive

OpenCFO is an AI-native finance operations platform for the office of the CFO, and they are seeking a Founding Account Executive to lead their sales efforts. The role involves building a sales pipeline, executing outreach strategies, and eventually taking ownership of the closing process as the company grows.

Responsibilities:

• Outbound is your primary focus. You will build the target lists, write and test the sequences, and generate the meetings
• Alongside outbound, you will open secondary channels and form a view on whether they merit sustained investment. Example channels include implementation partners (ERP resellers and consultancies) or fractional CFO firms delivering advisory work
• We expect all of this to be instrumented. Inputs, reply rates, meetings booked and held, stage conversion, and cost per meeting should be visible to the team throughout, so that the decisions we make entering the second quarter rest on evidence rather than on instinct
• Scale the motions that worked and move to full cycle ownership, covering sourcing, discovery, demonstrations alongside our product lead, procurement and security review, and close
• Document the playbook as it emerges, including the sequences, the call structure, the objection handling, and the discovery questions that produce a quantified problem rather than a sympathetic one
• Carry the market back into the company. You will be speaking regularly with the market and we expect that to inform our positioning, our pricing, and our roadmap. We also expect you to make the argument when you think we have it wrong
