Senior BI Engineer (Databricks / Data Modeling Lead) @ 100% Remote || W2 Only

HYR Global Source Inc is seeking a Senior BI Engineer with expertise in Databricks and data modeling. This role involves a mix of technical leadership and hands-on development, focusing on leading BI initiatives while coding.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build semantic layers and data models in Databricks
• Develop scalable data models using Kimball methodology
• Work hands-on with SQL and Python for transformations
• Lead BI projects and guide small engineering teams
• Ensure data quality, governance, and performance
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and Analytics teams

Requirements:

• 8 10+ years in BI Engineering / Data Engineering / Analytics Engineering
• Databricks (Lakehouse, Delta, Unity Catalog)
• Data modeling: Kimball, Star Schema, Fact & Dimension tables
• Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold layers)
• Strong SQL and Python
• CI/CD pipelines (any tools)
• Experience building semantic layers / business-ready datasets
• Hands-on + team leadership / mentoring experience
• Bachelor s Degree in: Computer Science, Information Technology, Or related field
• Work Authorization : U.S. Citizens and Green Card Holders preferred, all valid work authorizations may apply
• DBT experience
• Experience in Retail or Logistics domain
• Exposure to BI governance and metadata management
