Senior Environmental Project Engineer

Apex Companies is a fast-growing consulting and engineering firm focused on environmental projects. They are seeking a Senior Environmental Project Engineer to provide technical oversight, manage projects, and mentor staff while ensuring safety and quality in project execution.

Responsibilities:

• Provide senior technical oversight and perform project work
• Write and review technical reports and proposals
• Assist with project management activities
• Engineer design of environmental projects under senior engineer oversight
• Mentor and train scientific staff and supervise work
• Conduct field-based activities such as site inspections, remedial system startups, O&M trouble shooting
• Assist with installing, operating, and maintaining soil and groundwater remediation systems
• Manage and oversee equipment vendors in the field
• Ensure safe work practices on all project work
• Actively develop your own career growth

Requirements:

• BS in Environmental Engineering
• PE Certification
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
• Experience with environmental remediation including soil, soil gas, and groundwater treatment systems
• Familiarity / exposure with the FDEP Petroleum Response Program
• 5+ years of related experience
• Proficiency with MS Office
• Excellent technical communication skills; strong attention to detail; field adeptness
• Strong safety record and understanding of safe work practices
• Strong research and analytical skills to identify, collect, organize, and document information and data
• Valid driver's license, good driving history and reliable transportation are required
• 10-15% fieldwork/travel to support and oversee pilot tests, system optimization, system startups, and pre-construction meetings
• Experience with AutoCAD is a plus
