Sr. Engineer, AI Hardware

Motorola Mobility (a Lenovo Company) is a global technology powerhouse focused on delivering Smarter Technology for All. They are seeking a Senior Hardware Development Engineer to lead a team in developing innovative server designs and solving client challenges in the Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group.

Responsibilities:

• The position is for a Senior Hardware Development Engineer in the Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG), based in Morrisville, North Carolina
• The Senior engineer will be looked upon to lead a set of highly motivated engineers to develop innovative and complex server designs to meet customer and business needs
• The role also entails solving unique client challenges through the custom development of solutions and direct engagement with customers
• The candidate will be tasked to lead a team of engineers and engage with architecture and executive leaders in the development organization to design and deliver the ISG portfolio’s next generation of servers

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering
• At least 10 years of in-depth experience in x86 or AMD architecture and hardware design
• At least 10 years of experience in EDA schematic design tools for PCB schematic creation, support Physical design activity and then define/perform low level hardware validation
• Experience in leading engineers/team wrt technical direction and product development
• Ability to triage and resolve complex hardware issues and provide guidance to other engineers who are assigned tasks related to the problem investigation
• Strong organizational skills to lead server subsystem designs with a team of highly motivated engineers that deliver innovative and challenging server designs
• Master's Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering
• Server design experience is strongly preferred
• Previous experience in FPGA code development and validation, DC Power circuit design, and/or PCIe bus design, simulation, and validation
• Proficiency in Linux/Windows Operating systems
• Experience with OS virtualization is a plus
• Strong proficiency in shell scripting (BASH/Perl/Python and Windows Power Shell) preferred
• Demonstrated leadership on a project with engineering team members located in multiple geographies
• Ability to provide mentorship to other engineers and support the growth and development of engineering talent applied to new technologies
• Business acumen to engage with various functional teams required to take projects from concept to production
