About this role
HYR Global Source Inc is seeking a Senior BI Engineer who specializes in Databricks and data modeling. This role involves a combination of technical leadership and hands-on development, focusing on leading BI initiatives and ensuring data quality and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build semantic layers and data models in Databricks
- Develop scalable data models using Kimball methodology
- Work hands-on with SQL and Python for transformations
- Lead BI projects and guide small engineering teams
- Ensure data quality, governance, and performance
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and Analytics teams
Requirements:
- 8 10+ years in BI Engineering / Data Engineering / Analytics Engineering
- Databricks (Lakehouse, Delta, Unity Catalog)
- Data modeling: Kimball, Star Schema, Fact & Dimension tables
- Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold layers)
- Strong SQL and Python
- CI/CD pipelines (any tools)
- Experience building semantic layers / business-ready datasets
- Hands-on + team leadership / mentoring experience
- dbt experience
- Experience in Retail or Logistics domain
- Exposure to BI governance and metadata management
