Job Title: Payroll Data Reporting Analyst (Oracle SQL) -
Location: Memphis, TN (Hybrid 2 days onsite per week)
Duration: 12 Months + Possible Extensions
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Payroll Data Reporting Analyst to support ongoing reporting and data analysis needs within the Payroll Support organization. This role is heavily focused on Oracle SQL development and reporting, supporting both internal and external business partners who require payroll-related data that cannot be obtained through standard reporting tools.
The ideal candidate will have strong Oracle SQL expertise, advanced Excel skills, experience working with large datasets, and the ability to translate business reporting requests into accurate, efficient reporting solutions. This individual will partner closely with Payroll Support analysts and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, troubleshoot, and optimize Oracle SQL queries to support payroll reporting requests.
- Review incoming requests through ServiceNow and determine the most effective reporting solution.
- Create new reports and leverage existing reporting assets when appropriate.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, discrepancies, and data quality issues.
- Validate data accuracy and ensure compliance with reporting standards and audit requirements.
- Collaborate with Payroll Support analysts and business stakeholders to deliver timely reporting solutions.
- Document SQL queries, reporting processes, and supporting audit documentation.
- Help reduce operational risk by providing reliable and accurate payroll reporting support.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience writing and troubleshooting complex Oracle SQL queries.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
- Pivot Tables
- VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
- Complex formulas
- Data manipulation and analysis
- Experience analyzing large datasets and translating business requirements into reporting solutions.
- Experience using ServiceNow or a similar ticketing/work management platform.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- PeopleSoft experience.
- Payroll, HRIS, workforce management, or related reporting experience.
- Experience supporting enterprise-level reporting environments.
- Shared services or large corporate environment experience.
