Virtual Peaker is a company focused on solving the climate crisis by building the utility of the future. They are seeking a Business Development Representative to engage with prospects and qualify potential customers for their Account Executive team, ideal for someone entering the business development or sales role at a rapidly growing B2B startup.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a working knowledge of the utility industry, including DERs, DERMS, demand response, and decarbonization
- Research and prospect companies that meet Virtual Peaker’s ideal customer profile
- Plan, execute, and iterate on multi-channel outbound campaigns
- Engage and qualify inbound leads and outbound prospects
- Effectively partner and work across the Sales and Marketing teams
- Support Marketing events through outreach and attendance
- Maintain complete and accurate records in the CRM and adjacent tools
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- 2+ years of sales/business development experience preferred
- Business to business communication and prospecting
- Active listening skills
- Research experience
- Attention to detail, strong organizational, and prioritization skills
- Coachability, accountability, and helpfulness
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Experience using and maintaining a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
- Basic understanding of Software as a Service (SaaS)
- Desire to build a long-term career in technology sales
- Curiosity, creativity, and a thirst for knowledge
- Consultative approach to relationship building
