About this role
Role Overview
Develop and implement enterprise-wide career development strategies aligned with organizational objectives
Manage a team of highly skilled learning professionals
Collaborate with P&C, leadership, and other departments to identify key career and talent development needs aligned to Unum’s competencies
Design and execute programs that support employee competencies and career growth
Establish metrics and key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of career development initiatives
Provide guidance and support to employees in navigating career paths within the organization
Stay informed about industry best practices and trends in career development and incorporate relevant strategies
Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the organization
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners to enhance career development opportunities
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, advance degree preferred
8-10 years’ experience in the field of HR/L&D
Excellent interpersonal skills related to managing a team, building partnerships, and providing strong coaching and consultative services
Demonstrated success as an internal consultant
Innovative – outside in focus; able to think and create new approaches
Demonstrated strength influencing others and driving enterprise results
Analytical ability and evaluative thinking skills
Demonstrated project management skills
Strong ability to think strategically and successfully implement solutions
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience in managing external suppliers
Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain on timeline without losing sight of the creative and strategic components
