The Anti-Defamation League is the leading anti-hate organization in the world, dedicated to protecting the Jewish people and combating antisemitism. The Associate Director of Education Research and Evaluation will design and conduct studies at K-12 and higher education levels to advance research on antisemitism, prejudice, and bias.
Responsibilities:
- Support CAR’s education research team lead in managing a growing portfolio of research and evaluation projects related to effective interventions for reducing antisemitism and hate
- Design and implement lab and field-based research studies
- Stay up to date on current trends in K-12 education and social science research on antisemitism and prejudice reduction
- Write materials ranging from brief internal data write-ups to public-facing reports
- Present research findings to both researcher and non-researcher audiences
- Facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring relevant partners remain up to date on CAR’s latest education research and findings
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Solid experience with research design principles and best practices
- Ability to manage quantitative and mixed-methods research projects throughout the project lifecycle
- Experience conducting field research in K-12 and/or college classroom settings
- Ability to analyze data and clearly summarize key findings using a variety of research methods
- Easy facility with statistical analysis software (preferably R)
- Experience with Qualtrics or similar survey platforms
- Ability to communicate complex quantitative findings to non-research-oriented audiences
- Easy facility with quantitative methodologies, such as multiple regression, factor analysis or other dimensionality reduction techniques, and experimental or quasi-experimental research design
- The ideal candidate has several years' research experience from prior employment, internships, and/or applicable undergraduate/graduate work
- Advanced degree, especially one involving coursework in statistics and research methods, desired
- Knowledge of code management and collaboration in GitHub a plus
- Knowledge of qualitative methods, such as focus groups and semi-structured interviewing, is a plus
- Experience with data visualization or demonstrated desire to learn
- Knowledge of antisemitism specifically and/or prejudice generally
