Achieve individual membership growth goals that contribute to overall council membership objectives for girls and adult volunteers.
Serve as the primary relationship manager for an assigned geographic territory, developing sustainable community partnerships that increase awareness of and access to Girl Scouts.
Develop and execute territory-based growth strategies using demographic data, market trends, school and community intelligence to identify new opportunities for membership growth.
Build, cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with schools, municipalities, libraries, businesses, faith communities, cultural organizations, youth-serving agencies and other community partners to establish a sustainable pipeline of membership opportunities.
Represent Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey at community meetings, networking events, school activities, festivals, recruitment events and other outreach opportunities to strengthen community presence and generate new leads.
Generate, qualify, manage and follow up on prospective girl, volunteer and community partner leads, ensuring timely communication and effective conversion through collaboration with Membership Support and other internal teams.
Execute local recruitment initiatives aligned with the council's strategic plan and annual business plan, creating opportunities that increase girl and adult participation.
Analyze Salesforce data, membership reports and demographic information to monitor lead activity, identify trends, evaluate recruitment effectiveness and adjust territory strategies as needed.
Collaborate closely with Membership Support, Community Engagement, Member Experience, Volunteer Experience, Marketing and other departments to maximize recruitment opportunities and deliver an exceptional member experience.
Support member retention by maintaining community relationships and identifying opportunities for continued engagement throughout the membership year.
Ensure Girl Scouting remains welcoming and accessible by promoting diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in all recruitment and partnership efforts.
Foster community relationships that reflect the religious, racial, ethnic, cultural, social and economic diversity of the communities we serve.
Participate in council-wide programs, events, initiatives and public relations activities, supporting the overall mission and goals of GSNNJ.
As part of a collaborative organization, actively identify opportunities to engage prospective girls, volunteers, community partners, donors and other stakeholders, connecting them with the appropriate staff to strengthen the council's overall impact.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience
Experience in sales, business development, recruitment, partnership development, community outreach or account management preferred
Knowledge of Girl Scout policies and procedures preferred
Proficiency in a second language is preferred (Spanish and/or Korean are highly valued)
Demonstrated success building relationships with diverse communities and community partners
Strong organizational, written, verbal and active listening skills
Exceptional relationship-building, networking and presentation skills with the confidence to engage audiences of varying sizes
Ability to identify market opportunities, analyze data and translate insights into effective growth strategies
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and effectively utilize Salesforce for lead management and reporting
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds
Membership in GSUSA is required upon employment and annually thereafter
Ability to work primarily within the assigned territory with limited office time
