About this role
Role Overview
- In this role you will operate in a highly complex data environment, becoming a reference data expert within Internal Audit.
- You will routinely navigate distributed, large-scale data sources, connecting information across multiple domains and translating it into clear insights for audit.
- As part of Internal Audit, you will work on audits while helping the team strengthen continuous auditing and predictive risk monitoring.
- This involves using data to identify patterns, outliers and emerging risks, and turning those findings into actionable recommendations.
- On a day-to-day basis you will:
- Navigate the complex data landscape in financial domains, understanding how data is generated, stored and consumed across different systems (e.g., Databricks, BigQuery, internal tools), and use that knowledge to design and execute robust audit tests;
- Perform process audits, assessing data quality, process effectiveness and the design/operation of controls;
- Strengthen continuous auditing by proposing and implementing data-driven routines, metrics and automated tests that enable ongoing monitoring of key risks and controls;
- Develop and implement robust audit plans and methodologies tailored to the activities under review;
- Prepare and present clear, concise audit reports to senior leadership, detailing findings, recommendations and strategic improvements;
- Facilitate data-driven discussions within the Internal Audit team and with other areas of the company;
- Drive innovation by leveraging technology for continuous audit testing and helping the team transition to a predictive risk management approach.
Requirements
- Strong data literacy and the ability to navigate complex data environments;
- Knowledge of SQL, Python or another programming language, and the ability to use them to explore and validate complex data;
- Experience working with large and/or distributed datasets, with an understanding of data structures and data flows;
- Problem-solving skills combined with effective communication and negotiation abilities;
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence and development will be considered a plus.
