Role Overview
- Produce PLC software and/or visualization systems.
- Emulate and test PLC software.
- Interpret electrical schematics and design input information.
- Lead controls engineering activities related to project design and implementation.
- Lead controls engineering design teams.
- Provide technical guidance.
- Ensure systems designed and supplied are CE Compliant to the Machinery Directive.
- Produce all associated documentation including design calculations, design specifications, Method Statements and Risk Assessments, operation and maintenance manuals, and test specifications.
- Commission controls systems on site and provide support to system commissioning activities and training for the end user.
- Assist in the development of the global Dematic controls standard.
Requirements
- HNC/HND in Electrical/Mechatronics/Controls Engineering as a minimum.
- Experience in a similar role.
- Extensive proven hands-on experience working within an industrial automation environment.
- Advanced understanding of PLC development tools.
- Good understanding of Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawings.
- Understanding of design requirements such as Machine Directive and its standards including safety standards.
- Good understanding of distributed control systems.
- Extensive understanding of software testing and emulation.
- Previous use of CAD tools.
- Understanding of automated warehouse desirable not essential.
