Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) | Onsite

Photon is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to improve the reliability, resiliency, observability, and operational stability of large-scale application and platform environments. The role focuses on proactive monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of production reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Drive reliability, availability, and resiliency across application and platform environments
• Implement and improve monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and observability using Datadog and Grafana
• Monitor production environments and proactively identify reliability and performance issues
• Lead and participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution
• Perform root-cause analysis for incidents and recurring production issues
• Identify opportunities to reduce operational issues through automation and engineering improvements
• Work closely with application, infrastructure, and platform teams to improve system reliability
• Support operational readiness and production stability for application releases and platform changes
• Analyze application and infrastructure behavior to identify performance, capacity, and reliability risks
• Improve troubleshooting and debugging practices across production environments
• Support continuous improvement of operational processes based on incidents and production observations
• Follow secure engineering and operational practices
• Use Jira and GitHub as part of the engineering and delivery lifecycle

Requirements:

• 8+ years of relevant experience in Site Reliability Engineering, production engineering, DevOps, cloud operations, or related engineering roles
• Strong experience with production reliability, resiliency, and operational support
• Hands-on experience with Datadog and Grafana for monitoring and observability
• Strong experience with incident response, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across complex application and infrastructure environments
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts
• Familiarity with Jira and GitHub
• Familiarity with unit testing and API testing
• Understanding of secure coding and operational security practices
• Ability to work closely with development, infrastructure, and platform engineering teams
• GCP experience
