Senior Data Analyst (Remote From Anywhere In Colorado)

The State of Colorado’s Governor's Office of Information Technology is hiring a Senior Data Analyst to analyze business and application data and support data migration and modernization. The role includes gathering data requirements, validating data and applications, documenting workflows, and collaborating with business and technical teams.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze business and application data using SQL to identify trends, validate data, and support business requirements
• Work with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather, document, and analyze data requirements
• Analyze legacy data structures and workflows and identify requirements for migration to modern systems
• Support data migration, transformation, and validation activities to ensure data is accurately transferred and structured for target systems
• Develop queries, data analysis, and documentation to support application modernization and operational needs
• Perform data quality checks and investigate data discrepancies or inconsistencies
• Develop and execute test scenarios and test scripts to validate data, applications, and business processes
• Partner with developers, testers, business analysts, and project teams throughout the application lifecycle
• Document data processes, business rules, workflows, requirements, and transformation logic
• Support regression and user acceptance testing by validating expected data and system behavior
• Identify opportunities to improve data processes, reporting, testing, and overall system efficiency
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Participate in Agile delivery processes, including Scrum and Kanban ceremonies and iterative delivery

Requirements:

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, systems analysis, or a related field
• Strong SQL skills and experience analyzing relational data
• Experience with large-scale enterprise or government data environments
• Experience developing test scripts and supporting regression, integration, and user acceptance testing
• Experience with accessibility testing and tools such as JAWS or JAWS Inspect
• Experience with both Agile and traditional project delivery methodologies
• PMP, Scrum Master, or related professional certification
• Experience analyzing and documenting data requirements, business processes, and workflows
• Experience supportingdata migration and data transformation initiatives
• Experience with data validation, quality assurance, and application testing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to translate business requirements into clear technical and data requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders
• Experience working in anAgile/Scrum environment
