Senior Product Manager

Scribd is hiring a Senior Product Manager, Recommendations to own the strategy and roadmap for recommendation experiences across its products. The role partners with machine learning, data science, engineering, and cross-functional teams to develop and evaluate personalization and discovery features that improve engagement, retention, and subscription outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Define the recommendations vision and roadmap, tied to engagement, retention, and subscription outcomes
• Partner with ML, data science, and engineering on embeddings-based retrieval, deep learning ranking, and content understanding
• Translate user and business needs into clear specs for ranking, candidate generation, and personalization features
• Define success metrics and build evaluation frameworks: offline evals, human-graded relevance, and online experimentation
• Run A/B tests, interpret results, and decide what ships, scales, or stops
• Balance relevance, diversity, freshness, and content quality against business goals such as engagement, monetization, and content ecosystem health
• Work with design, content, growth, and marketing on cross-product discovery experiences
• Mentor PMs and raise the bar on product practice

Requirements:

• 5+ years in product management, with a track record of shipping consumer products at scale
• Hands-on experience with recommendation, personalization, search, or ranking systems
• Strong analytical skills: experiment design, metric definition, and comfort working with data teams
• Ability to partner with ML engineers and data scientists on model-driven products, including tradeoffs in relevance, latency, and cost
• Clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams without authority, including across time zones in a remote setting
• Autonomy, with a bias toward data-informed decisions that balance user value and business outcomes
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience
• Must be authorized to work in Canada or the US
