What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will be someone who can bridge the gap between Finance and Cloud Engineering, understanding both the financial implications of cloud consumption and the technical drivers behind that spend.
You should be comfortable working with large datasets, challenging cloud spending assumptions, building financial forecasts, identifying optimization opportunities, and communicating recommendations clearly to both technical and executive audiences.
We are seeking an experienced FinOps Manager to lead financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and cost optimization for cloud infrastructure supporting a high-volume IVR and communications technology environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong combination of Finance/FP&A expertise and cloud cost management experience, with exposure to major hyperscalers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
This role will partner closely with Finance, Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, and business stakeholders to improve visibility into cloud spending, establish accurate forecasts and budgets, identify optimization opportunities, and drive financial accountability across cloud operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead cloud financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform environments.
Develop and maintain cloud cost forecasts aligned with business growth, usage trends, and infrastructure requirements.
Analyze monthly cloud spend, identify significant variances, and communicate financial insights to Finance and executive stakeholders.
Partner with Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Product teams to understand cloud consumption and cost drivers.
Identify and drive cloud cost optimization opportunities, including rightsizing, utilization improvements, reserved capacity, savings plans, and commitment-based discounts.
Establish and improve cloud cost allocation, tagging, chargeback/showback, and financial accountability processes.
Develop dashboards and management reporting covering cloud spend, forecasts, budgets, utilization, and savings opportunities.
Support financial modeling for new cloud initiatives, applications, infrastructure projects, and business growth.
Establish appropriate KPIs and metrics to measure cloud financial performance and optimization.
Monitor cloud spending against approved budgets and proactively identify risks and opportunities.
Collaborate with technical teams to translate cloud usage and infrastructure decisions into financial impact.
Support development and implementation of FinOps policies, governance, and best practices.
Present financial and cloud-cost insights to senior leadership and business stakeholders.
Continuously improve cloud financial management processes, reporting, and forecasting methodologies.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, technology finance, FinOps, or cloud financial management.
Experience with cloud financial management and cost optimization.
Strong experience with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Experience working with one or more major cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.
Experience partnering with technical/engineering teams and translating technical information into financial insights.
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
