Senior Pharma Business Analyst – DATAstream

Slipstream Life Sciences provides IT support, managed solutions, and strategic consulting services for emerging pharmaceutical and biotech organizations. The Senior Pharma Business Analyst will work with Life Sciences clients on data, analytics, commercial operations, and data management initiatives, translating business needs into functional and technical requirements and supporting DATAstream implementations through delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Work with Pharma/Life Sciences clients to understand business processes, data requirements, challenges, and future-state needs
• Lead business and functional requirements gathering sessions with client stakeholders and SMEs
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional requirements, user stories, data requirements, and process flows
• Analyze commercial Pharma data and understand how different sources contribute to business processes and analytics
• Work closely with Data Architects, Data Engineers, MDM teams, BI teams, and Solution Architects to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Support DATAstream implementations across data integration, commercial data warehousing, MDM, reporting/analytics, and AI/data use cases
• Understand source systems, data feeds, data structures, business rules, transformations, and downstream reporting requirements
• Define data mapping, business rules, data quality requirements, and acceptance criteria
• Participate in data profiling, data validation, UAT, and issue resolution
• Create and maintain business requirements documents, functional specifications, process flows, data dictionaries, mapping documents, and user stories
• Help identify data quality issues and work with technical teams to define appropriate remediation approaches
• Work with client teams to prioritize requirements and manage scope throughout the engagement
• Support solution demonstrations and communicate DATAstream capabilities to business stakeholders
• Provide domain expertise during solution design and implementation
• Support pre-sales activities, discovery workshops, RFP/RFI responses, estimates, and solution discussions when required

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Pharmaceutical commercial processes and data, along with the ability to translate business requirements into clear functional and technical requirements for data engineering, MDM, analytics, and technology teams
• • The candidate should have practical experience working with Pharma commercial or Life Sciences data and should understand areas such as:
• • HCP / HCO / Customer data**
• • Product and Brand data**
• • Sales and prescription data
• • IQVIA, Symphony Health, MMIT, Veeva** or similar commercial data sources
• • Specialty Pharmacy and Distribution data
• • Patient / Patient Services data
• • Payer / Formulary data
• • Field Force / Sales Force data
• • Territory and Alignment data
• • CRM data and commercial analytics
• • MDM and customer master data
• • Commercial reporting and KPIs
• • Data integration and data warehouse concepts
• • 8+ years of Business Analysis experience, preferably within Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences
    Strong understanding of Pharma commercial business processes and data
• • Experience working with business and technical stakeholders
• • Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills
• • Ability to translate business requirements into data and technical requirements
• • Strong understanding of data integration, data warehousing, and data management concepts
• • Experience with data mapping, data validation, UAT, and data quality
• • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• • Ability to work independently and manage multiple client priorities
• • Experience working in Agile delivery environments
• The ideal candidate is a Pharma domain expert who is also comfortable working with technology and data
• This person should be able to sit with a business stakeholder, understand the business problem, translate it into data and functional requirements, and work with the technical team to ensure the solution addresses the intended business outcome
• Strong client-facing communication, ownership, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced consulting environment are critical
• • Experience with Veeva CRM, Veeva Network, IQVIA, Symphony, MMIT, Salesforce, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, Power BI, or similar platforms is a plus
• • Experience with Pharma Commercial Data Warehouses / CDWs
• • Experience with MDM implementations
• • Experience with Snowflake, Azure, AWS, or Databricks
• • Experience with Power BI or other BI platforms
• • SQL knowledge and ability to perform basic data analysis
• • Experience with APIs, SFTP, EDI, and other data integration mechanisms
• • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms
• • Experience supporting client-facing consulting or implementation engagements
• • Exposure to AI/ML use cases in Life Sciences is a plus
