Capital Markets Manager

Upstart is an AI lending marketplace that partners with banks and credit unions to expand access to affordable credit. The Capital Markets Manager - Institutional Capital will shape funding strategy, manage investor relationships, drive structured finance transactions from inception through execution, and provide market insights to internal teams and senior leaders.

Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end investor relationships: structuring, term negotiation, deal execution
• Drive clarity in ambiguous environments and manage competing priorities with high quality execution, across multiple stakeholders (legal, operations, analytics, accounting)
• Contribute to building a scalable, resilient capital markets infrastructure as we grow
• Provide cross functional teams and senior leaders with a clear, well-calibrated view of investor sentiment, market appetite, and emerging funding opportunities
• Coach and mentor other team members regardless of title/level – you clearly bring something unique to the table!

Requirements:

• 6-8 years of relevant experience in Capital Markets, Structured Finance/Products, investment banking, or related fintech roles
• Extensive modeling, credit analysis, and transaction documentation review skills
• Track record of exercising sound judgment on risk allocation and commercial terms
• Knowledge of consumer lending product (unsecured PL, auto, HELOC) is a plus
