Project Manager - Workday Implementation

CornerStone Professional Placement is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a significant enterprise-wide Workday implementation. The role will coordinate cross-functional business and technical workstreams, manage project plans, risks, dependencies, meetings, testing, governance documentation, and stakeholder communications throughout the implementation lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and continuously update the integrated project plan, including milestones, deliverables, dependencies, timelines, and critical-path activities
• Coordinate project activities across multiple business and technical workstreams, which may include Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, IT, Security, Data, Integrations, Testing, Change Management, and Training
• Partner with senior program leadership to ensure project priorities, timelines, risks, and decisions remain visible and properly managed
• Schedule and facilitate project meetings, working sessions, status reviews, steering discussions, and cross-functional decision forums
• Develop clear meeting agendas, document key decisions, capture action items, assign owners, establish due dates, and follow through until items are resolved
• Maintain project governance documentation including project plans, status reports, dashboards, RAID logs, action trackers, decision logs, dependency trackers, and related materials
• Track risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies across workstreams and escalate concerns before they negatively affect project timelines or deliverables
• Proactively identify scheduling conflicts, resource constraints, unresolved decisions, and cross-functional dependencies
• Coordinate activities across internal business teams, technical resources, software vendors, and external implementation consultants
• Help ensure that responsibilities between internal teams and the implementation partner are clearly defined and understood
• Support project activities throughout the implementation lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, integrations, data conversion, testing, training, deployment, cutover, and post-launch stabilization
• Coordinate testing schedules, readiness reviews, defect-management activities, deliverable reviews, and milestone checkpoints
• Track testing progress and help ensure issues and defects are assigned, prioritized, communicated, and resolved appropriately
• Support functional and technical teams in converting meetings and discussions into clear decisions, action items, owners, and deadlines
• Monitor workstream progress against established plans and identify areas where additional coordination or escalation is required
• Support scope and change-control processes by documenting requested changes and helping assess potential impacts to schedule, resources, dependencies, and project deliverables
• Prepare concise project communications and status updates for project teams, senior leadership, and other stakeholders
• Help translate complex project information into clear summaries that highlight accomplishments, upcoming milestones, risks, decisions, and required actions
• Maintain organized and accessible project documentation so teams are consistently working from current and accurate information
• Drive follow-up across project teams to ensure outstanding actions and decisions do not stall implementation progress
• Establish effective project-management discipline while avoiding unnecessary administrative processes that slow down delivery

Requirements:

• Approximately 5-7 years of project management, program coordination, implementation, or closely related project-delivery experience
• Experience supporting complex, cross-functional enterprise technology implementations
• Experience working with multiple business and technical workstreams simultaneously
• Strong understanding of core project-management fundamentals, including project planning, scheduling, milestone management, dependency tracking, risk management, issue management, and status reporting
• Experience coordinating internal teams, external consulting partners, software vendors, or system implementation partners
• Demonstrated ability to manage project meetings and working sessions effectively
• Strong experience documenting decisions, action items, risks, dependencies, and project status
• Ability to identify potential project issues early and drive appropriate follow-up or escalation
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a complex project environment
• Ability to synthesize large amounts of project information and turn it into clear, practical updates and next steps
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with functional stakeholders, technical teams, consultants, vendors, and leadership
• Proficiency with project-management, documentation, and collaboration platforms
• Ability to work independently while operating effectively within a larger program-management structure
• Previous experience supporting a Workday implementation, deployment, upgrade, or major optimization initiative
• Understanding of Workday implementation activities and project phases
• Experience with Workday HCM, Payroll, Finance, or related enterprise modules is beneficial
• Familiarity with enterprise business processes in Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, or related corporate functions
• Experience coordinating system integrations, data-conversion activities, user acceptance testing, or implementation cutover activities
• Previous experience working with a third-party Workday implementation partner or systems integrator
• Experience supporting ERP, HCM, HRIS, financial-system, or other large enterprise SaaS implementations
• Experience using Monday.com, SharePoint, or comparable project-management and collaboration tools
• PMP, CAPM, Agile, Scrum, or comparable project-management certification is helpful but not required
