Summer Associate Internship (Product Security Engineer)

Navy Federal Credit Union is offering a 12-week Summer Associate internship for students pursuing a degree in a technical field. The Product Security Engineer intern will support application, API, and AI security testing, research emerging technologies, analyze program metrics, improve processes through automation, and prepare technical documentation and presentations.

Responsibilities:

• Support application, API, and AI security testing efforts
• Analyze and document security findings and test results
• Research emerging security technologies and industry trends
• Evaluate and improve program metrics and reporting
• Assist with process automation and continuous improvement initiatives
• Prepare technical documentation and presentations
• Collaborate with security and technology teams on strategic projects

Requirements:

• To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later
• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity policies and best practices
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office)
• Familiarity with project management tools
• Experience with data analysis tools
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to address the needs of internal and external stakeholders professionally and empathetically
