Evaluation and Data Analyst (Public Health/Social Science)

JBS International, Inc. is seeking an Evaluation and Data Analyst, Research Assistant III, to support mission-driven research and evaluation projects focused on national service and public health. The role supports survey and data collection, dataset preparation and quality assurance, statistical analysis, visualization, literature reviews, and the development of reports and client-ready deliverables.

Responsibilities:

• Support survey administration and participant tracking activities
• Assist with developing and testing online surveys and data collection tools
• Help monitor response rates and data collection progress
• Organize and maintain study documentation, data dictionaries, and tracking files
• Assist with participant recruitment and communications as needed
• Clean, organize, and prepare datasets for analysis
• Conduct routine data quality checks and identify inconsistencies
• Merge, format, label, and archive datasets according to project protocols
• Maintain documentation of data processing activities
• Conduct descriptive statistical analyses under guidance from senior staff
• Support quantitative analyses using statistical software such as SAS, R, Python, or Stata
• Create tables, charts, dashboards, and other visualizations in Excel and Power BI to communicate findings
• Assist with interpretation of results and preparation of analytic summaries
• Conduct literature reviews and summarize research findings
• Assist in preparing reports, presentations, briefs, and client-ready materials
• Compile data, references, and supporting materials for project deliverables
• Review documents for accuracy, consistency, and formatting
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk or computer workstation
• Regularly uses a computer, keyboard, and mouse
• Normal or corrected vision to read documents, view computer screens, and perform tasks that require visual accuracy
• Ability to hear and understand spoken information in person and over the phone Minimal lifting and carrying may be required, typically light office supplies or documents
• Ability to move within the office environment to access equipment, files, and interact with colleagues
• Ability to handle occasional stress related to deadlines, workloads, or challenging tasks

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Sociology, Community Psychology, Statistics, Social Sciences, Statistics or a similar field
• 2 years of experience comprising of 1 year of focus research experience conducting quantitative survey research
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Access)
• Experience with SAS, R, or other statistical packages
• Experience with Python and SQL
• Familiarity with survey platforms (e.g., Alchemer, Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey)
• Understand data management and quantitative research methods
• Problem solving, analysis, communication, and teamwork skills
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Ability to write clearly and concise copy with attention to detail and target audience focus
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to work independently or work collaboratively with a team
• English fluency (oral and written)
• Remote eligible. If located within 50 miles from the North Bethesda or San Mateo office, this will be a hybrid work schedule
