We are seeking an experienced ERP Financials Project Manager to lead the planning, implementation, enhancement, and support of public-sector financial systems Any ERP Financials Project manager can apply ( nice to have public sector experience )
THE PM will initiate the process for Custom Build ERP Public sector financials Application -
The Project Manager will coordinate business, technical, and vendor teams to ensure successful delivery of financial systems projects while maintaining clear communication with client stakeholders, leadership, and project team members.
This is a long-term contract position expected to last 2 3 years.
Work Location
Hamilton, New Jersey
Must work onsite at the client location three days per week
Remaining work schedule may be remote, subject to client requirements
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end ERP financials projects, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
Lead implementations, upgrades, enhancements, integrations, and production support initiatives for Oracle Financials, SAP Financials, or similar ERP platforms.
Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, deliverables, budgets, resource plans, and status reports.
Partner with finance, accounting, procurement, budgeting, grants, payroll, IT, and other public-sector business stakeholders.
Coordinate cross-functional teams, including functional consultants, technical teams, system integrators, vendors, business analysts, and client representatives.
Facilitate project meetings, workshops, requirements sessions, design reviews, status meetings, and executive briefings.
Ensure project deliverables align with public-sector financial policies, regulatory requirements, internal controls, audit standards, and organizational procedures.
Manage project scope, risks, issues, dependencies, assumptions, action items, and change requests.
Establish effective communication plans and provide timely, accurate project updates to stakeholders and senior leadership.
Oversee requirements gathering, business process analysis, configuration, testing, data conversion, integrations, training, deployment, and post-go-live support.
Coordinate system integration testing, user acceptance testing, defect resolution, readiness assessments, and production cutover activities.
Work with technical teams to manage integrations between ERP financials and other systems, such as payroll, procurement, budgeting, grants, banking, tax, and reporting platforms.
Monitor vendor performance, contract deliverables, service-level commitments, and project costs.
Prepare project documentation, including project charters, schedules, RAID logs, meeting minutes, status reports, test plans, deployment plans, and lessons learned.
Support organizational change management, user training, communications, and adoption activities.
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, automation, controls, and system efficiency.
Ensure compliance with project management methodologies and applicable public-sector policies.
Escalate critical issues and provide practical recommendations to resolve project challenges.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
8+ years of project management experience, preferably managing ERP financials or enterprise technology projects.
Experience with at least one major ERP platform, such as:
Oracle E-Business Suite
Oracle Cloud Financials/ERP
SAP ECC
SAP S/4HANA
PeopleSoft Financials
Other comparable ERP financial systems
Experience managing public-sector, government, municipal, state, county, or education-sector financial systems projects.
Strong understanding of financial business processes, including:
General ledger
Accounts payable
Accounts receivable
Budgeting
Purchasing and procurement
Fixed assets
Grants management
Cash management
Financial reporting
Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with executives, business users, technical teams, vendors, and project stakeholders.
Strong experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, issues, and deliverables.
Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a complex client environment.
Willingness and ability to work onsite in Hamilton, NJ, three days per week.
Preferred Qualifications
PMP, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2, or comparable project management certification.
Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
Oracle or SAP certification.
Experience with ERP implementations, system upgrades, cloud migrations, or financial transformation programs.
Knowledge of public-sector accounting, budgeting, grants, procurement, compliance, and audit requirements.
Experience managing system integrators and third-party implementation vendors.
Familiarity with data conversion, reporting, interfaces, security, workflow, and integration architecture.
Experience leading organizational change management and user adoption programs.
