Truss Design Manager

Carter Lumber is a company specializing in engineered wood and truss design, and they are seeking a Truss Design Manager. The role involves overseeing the design process for roof and floor trusses, ensuring accurate and timely production based on customer blueprints while maintaining effective communication with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for setting the direction and managing areas of employment such as hiring, communication, motivation, discipline, separation, and other areas. Ensures goals are outlined for employees and are met
• Creates design illustrations based on blueprints to produce working drawings for fabrication. Completes and finalizes designs for production and assembly. Evaluates designs to ensure that design standards are being met
• Reviews and analyzes specifications, blueprints, engineered drawings and related designs to determine factors affecting design of the wall, truss and engineered wood components
• Communicates with production teams, customers, and Store Managers to ensure designs are accurate throughout the process. Assists stores in responding to questions/concerns from customers

Requirements:

• 10-15 years in MiTek
• Knowledgeable in the basic aspects of construction
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledgeable in reading architectural and structural plans
• Ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize, and coordinate work activities
• Strong work knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Previous management experience in the building material industry preferred
