Sr. Project Manager- Wet Utilities, Water, Sewer, Storm-Open Cut

The Senior Project Manager will plan, direct, coordinate, and budget activities related to assigned contracts or projects while overseeing their organization, scheduling, implementation, and completion.

Responsibilities:

• Schedule the project in logical steps, and budget time required to meet deadlines
• Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, engineers, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems
• Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
• Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress- and cost-tracking reports
• Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients representing the owner or developer
• Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of services provided, facilities, and systems
• Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies on project sites
• Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with municipal and safety codes and other regulations
• Study job specifications to determine appropriate service methods
• Select, contract, and oversee workers who complete specific pieces of the project, such as cleaning or manhole repair
• Confers with counterparts to assure successful & safe execution of project

Requirements:

• Ability to understand contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations
• Ability to be flexible and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to be decisive and work well under pressure, particularly when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays
• Ability to coordinate several major activities at once while analyzing and resolving specific problems
• Must understand engineering, architectural, and other construction drawings
• Must be familiar with computers and software programs for job costing, online collaboration, scheduling, and estimating
• Good oral and written communication and leadership skills
• Must be able to establish a good working relationship with many different people, including owners, other managers, designers, supervisors, and craft workers
• Bachelor's degree in construction science, construction management, or civil engineering and/or military experience preferred
• at least 4 years' experience in construction management
