Workday Financials Business Systems Analyst

SGF Global is seeking a senior-level Workday Financials Business Systems Analyst to support a Deloitte project. This role requires an experienced finance professional with expertise in Workday Financials, labor capitalization, project accounting, and financial reporting, working closely with various stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for Workday Financials solutions
• Configure, support, and optimize Workday applications based on business needs
• Review labor activity, project time entries, and supporting documentation to determine appropriate capitalization treatment
• Partner with project owners and business leaders to validate labor costs against approved capital projects and deliverables
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, adjustments, and reporting related to capitalized labor
• Ensure compliance with capitalization policies, internal controls, audit requirements, and applicable accounting standards
• Develop reporting and provide financial insights to Finance, Accounting, Project Management, and executive leadership
• Provide Workday troubleshooting, user support, and end-user training
• Support audit requests and process improvement initiatives related to labor capitalization and financial controls

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 10 to 15 years of Finance, Accounting, Cost Accounting, Project Accounting, or Financial Analysis experience
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Workday Financials
• Manager-level experience or Senior Consultant equivalent
• Strong understanding of capital expenditure (CapEx) and operating expense (OpEx) accounting principles
• Experience with labor capitalization, expense classification, and financial reporting
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
• Experience with Workday Compensation
• Background with ERP, project accounting, time-tracking, or financial planning systems
• Experience supporting financial audits and internal controls
• Knowledge of capitalization treatment for internally developed software, technology programs, or other long-term asset investments
• Experience with project lifecycle management and labor allocation methodologies
