Onshore - Senior Mechanical Engineer- Static [IND]

Hanwha Ocean is undergoing a transformative journey, evolving from a traditional shipbuilder into a comprehensive Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, and Operation (EPCI(O)) solutions provider. The Senior Static Engineer is responsible for executing projects and providing advanced technical guidance for Static equipment in the Energy Plant unit, particularly in power plant and petrochemical industries.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head of Discipline / Lead Engineer and mentoring junior engineers
• Provide advanced expertise and knowledge to select Static Equipment /package during the conceptual design / proposal phase and conduct specific studies during the basic and detailed engineering phases
• Preparation and checking of engineering deliverables such as specifications, datasheets, MRs, TBEs for Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Separators, Storage Tanks, Heat Recovery Steam Generator, Waste Water Treatment, Water Treatment and other static package items
• Design static equipment like Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Separators, Tanks and other static items, performing calculations to ensure structural integrity
• Review of vendor proposals, prepare technical bid clarifications, attend clarification meetings. Review and approve vendor data and deliverables
• Ensure all equipment meets industry standards and comply with rule and regulatory requirements
• Provide expertise input for risk assessment in engaging with vendors, conduct manufacturing facilities visit to gather information that support detailed engineering activities, and to obtain feedback on manufacturing limitations, testing, lead times etc
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking
• Assist in resolving technical issues during the fabrication, installation & commissioning phases
• Review and approve the work of less experienced team members to ensure quality and accuracy
• Troubleshoot and solve technical problems encountered during project execution
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and technical discussions to ensure robust engineering solutions
• Answer general queries arising from clients, contractors or internal company departments on aspects related to rotating equipment
• Prepare formal responses to comments from classification societies and clients on specifications, drawings, etc
• Maintain accurate records of design changes, decisions, and project milestones
• Ensure all documentation is complete and compliant with project requirements and quality management systems
• Provide engineering review and support for bid proposal including estimate of manhour and cost
• Raise Technical Queries towards the client’s project documents, Design basis to ensure all scopes of work and design basis are clarified
• Manage interface with all relevant disciplines to get necessary information for engineering or to provide data to other disciplines for their engineering
• Report Area of Concerns, Progress and Plan to Head of Discipline
• Conduct feasibility studies, Pre-FEED, FEED, FEED Verification (Inception of EPCI Phase) and EPCI phase Engineering

Requirements:

• Minimum bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 10 years working experience with 5 years' experience in Power Plant (Onshore EPC contractor)
• Experience with software such as PV Elite, Compress etc
• Deep understanding of ASME, API, TEMA codes, international codes & standards and material of construction
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with strong attention to detail and accuracy. ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to work with and to communicate effectively with co-workers, vendors, clients and manage multiple priorities
• Fluent in English, with strong oral and written communication skills
