They are seeking a Business Officer - Financial Analyst to support the Clinical Trials Office by managing financial components of clinical trial activations, including budget development and negotiation with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Review, develop, and negotiate complex clinical trial budgets and payment terms for studies funded by industry sponsors, federal agencies, and non-profit entities
- Collaborate with faculty investigators, clinical research staff, sponsors, and University administrative offices to ensure study budgets accurately reflect protocol requirements, clinical operations, institutional policies, and sponsor expectations
- Analyze study-specific financial requirements, identify budgetary concerns, resolve funding and payment term issues, and support timely study start-up
- Ensure that budgets and payment terms are financially sound, compliant with applicable University requirements, and aligned with Clinical Trials Office activation timelines
- Interpret and apply institutional policies, sponsor requirements, and external guidance related to clinical trial finance and research administration
- Support compliant, accurate, and efficient financial management of clinical trials during the activation process
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or related business area; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions
- Experience reviewing, developing, or negotiating clinical trial budgets and payment terms
- Experience supporting clinical trial activation or study start-up activities in a research administration, clinical trials office, or sponsored projects setting
- Knowledge of financial, operational, or protocol-related considerations that affect clinical trial budget development
- Experience interpreting or applying university policies, procedures, administrative practices, sponsor requirements, external guidance related to clinical trial finance or research administration
- Ability to communicate effectively with faculty investigators, clinical research staff, sponsors, or university administrative offices regarding budget or payment term issues
