Optum is a part of UnitedHealth Group, dedicated to providing high-quality medical care. The Project Manager will support Clinic Operations through project management and operational management work, ensuring effective execution of initiatives and coordination across multiple business units.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in the development of organizational objectives and short and long term goals
- Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems
- Solves complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analysis
- Translates concepts into practice
- Utilizes proven methodologies in project and change management to support corporate leadership initiatives
- Partners with departmental leadership and staff to identify/define performance planning/measures, tracking and reporting objectives
- Leads and guides functional and segment teams through project implementation with competing agendas and priorities
- Collaborate cross departmentally to manage risk forecasting/mitigation, project progress and issue resolution efforts
- Liaison between internal and external teams to help steer work stream communications to ensure response integrity
- Maintains project and process knowledge bank to support best practice identification and implementation
- Develops performance, project status, meeting correspondence and ad hoc reports for consumption by various levels of management
- Acts as a resource to others with less experience
- Performs all other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- PMP Certification within 12 months of date of hire
- 5+ years of decision support, data analysis, or healthcare operations experience
- Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Proven ability to successfully conceptualize an initiative, develop a plan and execute the plan through implementation
- Proven ability to interact one-on-one and consult with all levels of executive management
- Proven solid analytical/statistical skills used in evaluating and analyzing data
- Certification and/or training in a nationally recognized Change Management Methodology
- Basic understanding of concepts and practices of Six Sigma
