Exol is bringing industry-leading automation to businesses of all sizes through an innovative warehouse-as-a-service model. They are seeking a Project Manager for Operations to oversee projects from planning to system acceptance, ensuring timely and quality delivery while acting as a liaison between various teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary operations liaison across Automation, Engineering, IT, Facilities, and Staffing throughout the facility launch lifecycle — from construction turnover through steady-state operations
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings, providing clear and consistent updates to both internal and external stakeholders to keep projects on track
- Develop process flows, labor models, and staffing plans that connect automation system design to operational headcount requirements
- Lead cross-functional teams through the execution phase of the project, from early site preparation and coordination to final system acceptance, while maintaining a strong focus on project goals
- Build readiness checklists and operational acceptance criteria that define what “ready to operate” means for each team before go-live
- Conduct post-launch performance analysis to close the loop between design intent and actual results
- Foster a culture built on transparency, timely decision-making, and strong partnerships across all project participants
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 5 years' experience managing large automation, material handling, or construction projects
- Proven experience in scheduling, scope, cost, and risk management for complex technical projects
- Experience managing design/building, installation, and construction projects
- Skilled at stakeholder management across clients, contractors, and engineering teams
- Track record of delivery on time and within budget
- Strong problem-solving under pressure and ability to implement creative solutions
- Effective negotiator with proven ability to balance competing priorities
- Proficient with scheduling software, earned value management, and data-driven performance tracking (Smartsheet / Jira)
- Up to 25% travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations
- The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis
- Background in robotic automation, ASRS, or material handling preferred
