Staffing Matches is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer focused on weld quality. In this role, you'll implement quality control processes and lead initiatives to ensure the durability, functionality, and safety of equipment while collaborating across departments and guiding a team of quality professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Design and oversee quality assurance systems to ensure all products and production methods align with internal standards
- Create quality documentation for key structural weldments and complex assemblies
- Establish inspection protocols and first article verification processes
- Evaluate and recommend enhancements for welding processes and techniques
- Perform audits of weld and fabrication operations to confirm adherence to specifications
- Lead compliance audits aligned with ISO 9001 and internal quality
- Monitor quality metrics, identifying areas for improvements
- Facilitate Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts to reduce Costs of Poor Quality (COPQ)
- Manage and resolve non-conformance issues
- Provide mentorship as needed
- Support engineering, manufacturing, and warranty teams with root cause investigations of product issues
- Maintain accurate quality documentation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field)
- 5+ years of experience in welding and fabrication
- 3+ years applying APQP, Control Plans, and PFMEA
- Proficient in ISO 9001 standards and conducting internal quality audits
