Business Development Representative

Surphmore Consulting builds custom software and AI systems for businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets. They are seeking a Business Development Representative to identify new business opportunities, conduct outreach, and manage inquiries to create a robust client pipeline.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and qualify new business opportunities
• Conduct outbound outreach
• Manage inbound inquiries to build a strong pipeline of prospective clients
• Research target companies
• Schedule and conduct discovery calls
• Communicate Surphmore’s value proposition
• Collaborate with technical team members to align solutions with client needs
• Maintain accurate records in CRM tools
• Follow up consistently
• Help refine sales messaging based on market feedback
• Support the sales cycle from initial contact through proposal
• Contribute to process improvements in lead generation and inside sales

Requirements:

• Candidates should possess strong Inside Sales and Lead Generation skills, including comfort with outbound outreach and pipeline management
• Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in clear, accessible language
• Candidates should possess Sales and Business Development skills, including opportunity qualification and relationship building
• Experience working with CRM tools and basic sales analytics is beneficial
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time well, and meet activity and performance targets
• Background in B2B software, SaaS, or technology services is a plus, but not required
• Prior experience in consultative selling or selling professional services is advantageous
• Relevant education or training in business, marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred
