The Impact You'll Make
As our Manager – Product Application Engineering, you will play a critical role in leading the Product Application Engineering team supporting OEM and Distribution customers across global Fluid Conveyance locations. You will drive engineering excellence, enhance customer responsiveness, improve quoting effectiveness, optimize Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes, and deliver continuous improvements that contribute to business growth.
Your impact will be reflected through improved customer win rates, enhanced quality and on-time delivery performance, streamlined engineering processes, stronger stakeholder engagement, successful VAVE initiatives, and the development of a high-performing engineering team. Acting as a key link between customers, sales, manufacturing, and engineering teams, you will help drive business success with a “run the business as your own” mindset.
You will collaborate closely with Sales, Product Management, Manufacturing Plants, Quality, Global Engineering Teams, and Customers while taking ownership of Product Application Engineering activities related to hoses, couplings, adapters, fittings, and other Fluid Conveyance Specialty products.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and develop the Product Application Engineering team for the Specialty Business Unit, driving high performance and engineering excellence.
- Drive productivity, continuous improvement, and best practices to enhance quality, responsiveness, and operational efficiency.Partner with customers and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver effective engineering solutions that support business growth and customer success.
- Optimize engineering processes, PLM practices, and Quality Operating System (QOS) initiatives to improve delivery, quality, and customer satisfaction.Allocate resources, prioritize strategic activities, and ensure timely execution of projects aligned with business objectives.
- Foster collaboration across global Fluid Conveyance teams to leverage engineering capabilities and accelerate innovation.
- Build and retain engineering talent through coaching, development, performance management, and succession planning.Champion Danfoss Business System methodologies, including DFSS, DMAIC, and VA/VE, to drive sustainable process improvements.
- Create an inclusive, professional, and accountable work environment that promotes engagement and continuous learning.Operate effectively across global teams and organizational boundaries while balancing local and business needs.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or an equivalent discipline, with demonstrated experience leading technical engineering teams.
- 10–15 years of professional experience in Application Engineering, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes, and CAD tools; supervisory experience within a multinational engineering organization is an advantage.
- Experience with customer-facing engineering activities and demonstrated pursuit of professional development through certifications or training such as Green Belt, Lean/DMAIC, Project Management, MS Project, or CAD tools.
- Experience related to Fluid Conveyance products and manufacturing environments is preferred, along with experience working with cross-cultural teams in a global setup.
- Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, accountability, problem-solving, and continuous improvement mindset with the ability to lead from the front, act with speed and focus, and build high-performing teams.
