Cape Fox Federal Contracting Group is seeking a Senior Project Manager responsible for day-to-day project management, including planning, coordinating, and monitoring all project activities. The role involves managing construction projects at federal facilities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining client communications.
Responsibilities:
- Meet operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvements
- Manage subcontractors; monitor, control performance, and ensure quality workmanship
- Oversee preparation of daily reports of construction activity for office submittal
- Supervise change proposals, proposal requests, requests for information; supplemental instructions and other contract documentation are required on behalf of Mountain Point
- Assist Contract Manager so that each subcontractor is provided with Mountain Point’s subcontract package and all agreements, submittals, required government documents, W-9, Certificate of Insurance, Certified Payroll, Lien Waivers, Schedule of Values, etc. are signed and returned to Mountain Point headquarters
- Attend and participate in preconstruction progress, weekly meetings, coordination meetings, including project and subcontractor meetings
- Support project health and safety plans in the workplace according to OSHA guidelines and EM385-1-1
- Maintain high level of professionalism and carry out a policy of courtesy and superior customer service. Exercise tact, good manners and diplomacy
- Maintain a thorough understanding of commercial construction industry practices and standards
- Supervise the coordination and input as needed with the contractors providing services and infrastructure
- Review progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients
- Assist subcontractors with Federal procedures and rules
- Enforce all client-required safety policies and procedures
- Comply with all company policies and procedures and safety requirements, including crew member discipline and documentation
- Coordinate and conduct final inspections with government contracting and civil engineer personnel
- Submit as-builts on finished projects
- Manage close out process and warranty responses with Site Superintendent
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry (preferably heavy civil) as Project Manager
- Eight (8) years of federal project experience
- Five (5) years in supervising/ managing civil and/or construction projects
- Knowledgeable with the provisions of EM 385-1-1 'Corps of Engineers Safety and Occupational Health Requirements Manual, dated March 2024'
- Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in any Construction related or engineering field
- Basic computer skills required and a working knowledge of standard off-the-shelf software applications to include Primavera (P6), RMS, RSMeans and Microsoft Word, Project, and Excel
- Knowledge of construction costs, scheduling, estimating and engineering principles and techniques, as well as accounting principles
- Familiar with various construction methods and materials, their characteristics, installation procedures and tolerances
- Hazardous Material Management (HAZWOPER)
- 30-Hour OSHA Construction Training Program
- First Aid/CPR certification
- USACE, Construction Quality Management for Contractors
- Have 10 or more years of hands-on experience as a Project Manager in similar facility construction technology, methods, and equipment, tools and work procedures
- Must be able to effectively manage subordinate managers and professionals
- Proven skills to identify onsite construction hazards and recommend/implement elimination, mitigation or controls
- Proven knowledge of construction equipment, methods, and processes and how to incorporate best safe practices in our daily activities
- Ability to work under deadline pressure, handle stress and deliver professional results
- Long hours and weekends may be required to meet deliverables
- Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate with others at all levels of the organization
- Ability to travel to company work sites, as needed
- Proficient in Resident Management System (RMS)
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Sit or stand throughout a regular workday
- Able to work on computer for long periods
- Meet OSHA training requirements specific to project work and ensure project team employees meet the requirements
- Ensures adherence to all company safety rules and SOPs in area of responsibility
- Rectifies unsafe actions and/or conditions immediately
- Participates in maintaining safe work environment by sharing and participating in all safety related meetings, training, etc
- All employees must adhere to the Cape Fox Corporation Ethics and Compliance policy and promote a culture that is conducive to Ethical conduct and compliance
- Professional registration in engineering or other is desired
- Experience managing IDIQ/Task order projects is highly desired
- Completed 40 Hour EM 385-1-1 Certified Site Safety & Health Course (desired)
