iboss is a cloud delivered Zero Trust network security platform trusted by more than 4,000 enterprises worldwide. They are seeking a highly skilled Forward Deployed Software Engineer to work directly within customer environments, bridging the gap between the engineering team and customers, translating requirements into technical solutions, and ensuring mission success.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy, configure, and integrate the iboss platform with enterprise, commercial and government customers
- Develop and customize Java-based software solutions to meet specific technical requirements and needs
- Collaborate directly with IT teams, program managers, and security officers to ensure seamless platform integration with existing infrastructure
- Build and maintain integrations with agency systems including SIEMs, SOARs, identity providers, and other security tools
- Design and develop Java-based components, APIs, and integrations tailored to federal customer environments
- Write clean, secure, well-documented code in accordance with security standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues at the code level in production environments
- Contribute enhancements and specific requirements back to the core iboss engineering team
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned accounts
- Conduct technical workshops, training sessions, and architecture reviews with agency stakeholders
- Provide expert-level guidance on Zero Trust architecture, network security, and cloud security best practices
- Work closely with the solutions engineering teams to support pre- and post-sale technical activities
- Document solutions, configurations, and custom development for knowledge sharing across the organization
- Work with the customer to ensure annual renewal and share new feature advancements
Requirements:
- 2+ years of professional software development experience with Java as the primary language
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals — TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, SSL/TLS, proxies, and firewalls
- Proficiency with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
- Experience with Linux/Unix-based systems
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills in live production environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Secure Web Gateway (SWG), CASB, or SASE platforms
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with SIEM/SOAR integrations (Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, etc.)
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CEH, or AWS Certified Security Specialty
- Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions
