This is an excellent opportunity for an Engineer in Training or a more seasoned Engineer with municipal infrastructure experience who values community connection, enjoys the outdoors, and wants to make a lasting impact in the West Kootenays.
ISL is happy to offer a relocation package for the right candidate to work out of our office in Rossland, British Columbia.
This is an office-based role in ISL’s Rossland office. The successful candidate will be expected to work on site on a full-time basis to support the close collaboration, mentorship, client responsiveness, and team culture of the Rossland team, with reasonable flexibility for occasional personal appointments or business needs.

About the Role
Joining a small team where you don’t just feel like “you are a number” at work you balance fun, recreation and large impact in your own community by applying your expertise in:
• Perform engineering calculations, modelling, design, and drafting for municipal infrastructure projects, preparing technical deliverables, drawings, and exhibits using AutoCAD Civil 3D and ESRI (GIS).
• Prepare and review technical documentation, including reports, memos, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, contract documents, specifications, and tender packages.
• Coordinate with clients, utility providers, contractors, and internal teams to resolve technical issues, manage utility conflicts, and ensure projects remain aligned with scope, schedule, and budget objectives.
• Support project management activities by assisting with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, progress tracking, meeting coordination, and project documentation.
• Assist with tender administration, contract administration, site inspections, construction reviews, and on-site support during project execution and construction.
• Foster strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and colleagues while delivering responsive service, supporting team collaboration, and maintaining safe work practices in office and field environments.

• You are always looking to grow your expertise and have some or many years of experience support Municipal Infrastructure Projects in some of the following areas:
◦ Water & Wastewater Infrastructure (distribution and collection)
◦ Stormwater & Drainage Engineering (flood mitigation, LID, urban drainage design)
◦ Transportation & Roadway Infrastructure (roads, corridors, utility coordination)
◦ Land Development & Municipal Servicing (subdivisions, grading, utilities, approvals)
◦ Infrastructure Planning & Modelling (feasibility studies, system analysis, long-term planning)
◦ Construction Administration & Project Delivery (tendering, QA/QC, site oversight)
• You are passionate, innovative and enjoy having team discussions that are through provoking
• You enjoy being mentored and sharing your expertise with others

Your application should highlight for us:
• Why you are passionate about ISL and specifically working in the Kootenay region
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• P.Eng or E.I.T designation (or eligibility to become registered as a P.Eng) with EGBC
• Progressive experience working on municipal infrastructure projects in British Columbia. We are happy to consider early stage E.I.T’s and more experienced P.Eng’s.
With experience in any or all of the following areas: design, construction and/or project delivery of Municipal Infrastructure projects.
• Experience in a consulting engineering environment is preferred.
• Proficiency with design software including AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoTURN, MS Office Suite, and related drafting or modelling tools.

Depending on your experience level, the salary range (based on a 40-hour work week) is:
• $60,000 - $100,000
