FGF Brands is a leading North American bakery company specializing in various bakery categories. They are seeking a Business Development Manager to support the growth of their Sweet Goods and Private Label business through customer engagement, account management, and business development initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Development: Create and implement effective sales strategies to drive growth and maximize revenue from direct sales channels
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and prospects, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions to enhance satisfaction and loyalty
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for growth and recommend strategies for market penetration
- Sales Forecasting: Develop and manage sales forecasts, budgets, and performance metrics to ensure alignment with overall business objectives
- Collaborative Initiatives: Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure alignment in strategies, product offerings, and customer messaging
- Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze sales performance data to identify trends, measure effectiveness, and adjust strategies as needed to meet targets
- Reporting: Prepare regular sales reports for senior management, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and strategic recommendations
- Travel Requirements: Be willing to travel as needed (up to 50%) for client meetings, industry events, and market visits
Requirements:
- Approximately 3-5 years of business development or sales experience, preferably in a direct sales environment within a Food or bakery manufacturing industry
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or a related field; or equivalent business experience
- Strong understanding of sales processes, methodologies, and best practices with a focus on direct sales channels
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
- Strong analytical abilities to interpret sales data, market trends, and customer insights to inform decision-making
- Proficiency in CRM software, sales analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs
