--- About the Role Our client, a global leader in water, hygiene, and infection prevention solutions, is seeking an IT Operations Support Specialist to join their team in Naperville, IL. This role supports innovative industrial technologies used across manufacturing, food processing, and water treatment environments. This is a hybrid position offering a mix of remote work (Mondays and Fridays) and onsite collaboration. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically curious, and thrives in a fast-paced support environment where problem-solving and clear communication are critical.Job Description As an IT Operations Support Specialist, you will serve as the first point of contact for technical support related to industrial equipment and digital monitoring systems. This role combines technical troubleshooting, customer support, and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities:
Act as the first line of contact for troubleshooting issues with industrial monitoring and control systems, including connected field equipment
Provide real-time phone support to field representatives, referencing product specifications, technical documentation, and pricing tools
Communicate with customers regarding equipment parts, pricing, and warranty information using ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
Log and manage support requests through a ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow), ensuring timely resolution and accurate documentation
Collaborate with Level 2 support teams on escalated technical issues
Provide technical insights and support to internal teams including product marketing, R&D, and commercialization
Support team goals, KPIs, and continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
1–2 years of technical experience with basic knowledge of PLCs and electrical components
2–5 years of customer service, contact center, or related experience
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to confidently support and guide customers
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and troubleshoot technical issues in a timely manner
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or comparable technical experience
Ability to analyze and interpret data within spreadsheets logically
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
Working knowledge of industrial electrical and mechanical systems
Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
Strong consultative and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to lead conversations with confidence, professionalism, and clarity
