They are seeking a Business Development Director to leverage industry connections and generate opportunities in the industrial design and product development sectors, focusing on establishing strategic relationships and securing new engagements.
Responsibilities:
- Generate qualified opportunities for industrial design, engineering, and product development services
- Build relationships with startups, consumer brands, innovation teams, and product companies
- Develop and execute strategic outreach plans
- Identify new markets, categories, and partnership opportunities
- Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions
- Understand client challenges and product goals
- Position Gizmospring's integrated design-to-manufacturing capabilities
- Lead discovery conversations and qualify opportunities
- Coordinate with internal design, engineering, and manufacturing teams
- Support proposal development and commercial negotiations
- Develop long-term relationships with founders, CEOs, product leaders, and innovation executives
- Build partnerships with industrial design firms, engineering consultancies, accelerators, venture studios, and innovation ecosystems
- Serve as the voice of the market and provide strategic feedback to leadership
- Monitor industry trends and emerging product categories
- Identify opportunities where Gizmospring can differentiate itself
- Share customer insights and competitive intelligence with leadership
Requirements:
- 7+ years in business development, consulting, client services, or sales within one or more of the following: Industrial Design Consultancies, Product Development Firms, Innovation Consultancies, Engineering Services Firms, Consumer Product Companies, Contract Manufacturing Organizations
- Demonstrated track record of generating and closing professional services engagements
- Strong network within consumer products, innovation, design, or product development communities
- Experience managing complex B2B sales cycles
- Prior experience working at a recognized industrial design consultancy
- Prior founder or entrepreneurial experience
- Experience launching consumer products
- Familiarity with manufacturing and commercialization processes
- Existing relationships with startups, venture-backed companies, innovation teams, and consumer brands
