About this role
PHIZENIX is seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Automation Migration Engineer to lead migration and optimization of mainframe automation solutions. The role involves leading migration projects, configuring IBM Systems Automation solutions, and collaborating with operations teams to enhance automation processes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead migration projects from CA OPS/MVS to IBM Tivoli Systems Automation for z/OS and from CA Automation Point to IBM SAIOM
- Configure and implement IBM Systems Automation solutions, including policy-based automation for z/OS
- Develop and maintain automation rules, REXX execs, and System Automation Policy Database (PDB)
- Provide installation, configuration, and troubleshooting support for IBM automation products
- Collaborate with operations teams to improve startup, shutdown, recovery, and high-availability automation processes
Requirements:
- Proven experience in mainframe operations and z/OS automation
- Hands-on migration experience from Non-IBM / ISV automation tools—especially CA OPS/MVS and CA Automation Point—to IBM Systems Automation solutions
- Advanced knowledge of IBM Tivoli Systems Automation for z/OS
- Working knowledge of NetView for z/OS and System Automation Policy Database (PDB)
- Strong TSO/ISPF, JCL, and REXX programming skills
- Demonstrated experience in installation, configuration, documentation, and automation-related troubleshooting
- Knowledge of SMP/E for software installation and maintenance
- Experience with fully automated system configurations on IBM Z
