CBTS is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a large-scale child welfare technology environment. The ideal candidate will serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring business needs are effectively translated into system requirements and technical solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a thorough understanding of agency mission, vision, goals, user groups, business processes, workflows, and supporting systems
- Analyze business operations and identify opportunities for process improvements and technology-driven solutions
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business, functional, and non-functional requirements
- Create and maintain business analysis artifacts including: Business requirements documents (BRDs), Functional requirements, User stories, Wireframes and conceptual designs, Process workflows, Traceability matrices, Test plans and testing documentation
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborate daily with software development, quality assurance, systems support, and project management teams
- Participate in project planning, resource planning, issue management, and status reporting
- Facilitate meetings with customers, stakeholders, and management to provide project updates and gather feedback
- Ensure business and user needs are met through timely and accurate delivery of solutions
- Support system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and quality assurance activities
- Assist in developing technical standards, procedures, policies, and best practices
- Work with project managers to ensure compliance with project schedules, governance standards, and implementation methodologies
- Contribute to strategic planning, process improvement initiatives, and client relationship management
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong experience as a Business Analyst within enterprise application environments
- Expertise in business analysis methodologies and documentation standards
- Experience creating: Wireframes, Functional and non-functional requirements, User stories, Business process workflows, Traceability matrices, Testing documentation
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall environments
- Knowledge of IT governance frameworks, project implementation methodologies, and business process improvement practices
- Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and large project organizations
