Essentia Health is a healthcare organization seeking a Senior Business Analyst to serve as a key financial business partner. This role involves providing strategic and operational decision-making support through financial analysis and business planning, while also guiding the annual operating budget process and leading complex projects.
Responsibilities:
- Support the business to raise standards in key decision areas, taking a forward-looking view supported by a rich consulting toolkit and high emotional intelligence to help articulate different options and influence decisions
- Perform a broad range of financial analysis and business plan responsibilities for assigned areas
- Conduct complex financial analysis on performance and potential new business activities
- Coordinate and perform a variety of complex financial analysis; serves as support for activities relating to physician compensation and production analysis as assigned
- Develop and maintain analytical methodologies, tools, and data to ensure data quality, security and accessibility; providing technical expertise to other staff involved in data analysis
- Act as a liaison between finance and operational leaders to ensure they have relevant tools and data and understand how to use them
- Guide the annual operating budget process to ensure timely and accurate fiscal planning
- Review budget variances and works with leaders to ensure compliance
- Support Vice Presidents and senior leadership across the organization
- Serve the organization as technical and subject matter expert for areas in which they work
- Provide input and guidance to other members of the Finance team
- Lead projects, develop and implement new methodologies and make recommendations to improve both the business and processes within the Finance team
- Implement analytical processes and tools (statistical software, data visualization tools, database systems)
- Lead and work on highly complex projects with large degrees of risk and scope
- Provide day to day leadership and direction to assigned team members and participate in the annual performance review process
- Provide accurate and timely feedback to team members on their work performance, accomplishments and opportunities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 4 years related experience
- 24 months of experience with performing financial analysis and business planning
- 24 months of experience with developing and maintaining analytical methodologies, tools, and data including ensuring data quality, security, and accessibility
- 24 months of experience with implementing and refining analytical processes and tools including statistical software, data visualization tools, and database systems
- 24 months of experience with generating reports and queries on data visualization platforms including Tableau, Advanced Excel, Visio, Power Bi, and Power Automate
- 24 months of experience with providing technical expertise on SQL, Microsoft Excel and VBA Macros, Data visualization tools, MS power apps and databases to other staff involved in data analysis
- 24 months of experience with Vizient tools and contracts, Six Sigma, Strata and healthcare data through ERP systems including Oracle Netsuite and EPIC
