Intellectt Inc is seeking an Electrical BIM Designer who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment, focusing on the Data Center market. The role involves managing Revit BIM models, creating 3D models, and developing 2D construction drawings while ensuring adherence to established BIM standards.
Responsibilities:
- BIM Model Management: Set up, manage, and maintain Revit BIM models in close coordination with cross-discipline BIM leads and team members
- 3D Coordination & Modeling: Create content and manage fully coordinated, clash-free 3D models across multiple disciplines using Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD software platforms
- Drafting & Documentation: Translate the design intent of senior telecommunications staff into high-quality 2D construction drawings and constructable deliverables
- Standardization: Ensure all modeling and drafting efforts stay strictly in accordance with established Jacobs and client BIM standards
- Design Collaboration: Partner with designers, discipline leads, architects, and engineers on the team to drive design accuracy and multi-tasking efforts
- Estimation: Estimate the hours required for design and modeling tasks based on provided markups and/or verbal technical direction
Requirements:
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent
- BIM Design Experience: 3+ years of hands-on BIM design experience
- Industry Domain: 3+ years of relevant experience in telecommunications systems design and the construction industry
- Codes & Standards: A growing understanding of how building codes, design/construction specifications, and standards shape overall design decisions
- Technical Fundamentals: Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment
- Software Platforms: Experience following strict client design/modeling standards using Bluebeam or similar markup software
- Core Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and extreme organizational capabilities
- Software Expertise: 3+ years of dedicated Revit and/or AutoCAD design experience
- Data Center Knowledge: Strong understanding of data center environments and workflows
- Specialized Systems: Knowledge and design experience with paging, intercom, and audio-visual (AV) systems
- Safety & Security: Knowledge and design experience involving life safety and security systems, fire alarms, access control, and CCTV
- Networking: Familiarity with control systems, network components, and network topology
