Senior Environmental/Remediation Engineer

Apex Companies is a rapidly growing engineering and environmental consulting firm recognized for its exceptional service and project excellence. They are seeking a Senior Environmental/Remediation Engineer to lead projects, contribute to business development, and mentor junior staff in their Northern California division.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as senior technical lead on projects with revenue of $2M to $3M annually
• Contribute to successful business development of new clients and projects at greater than $500K annually, with a focus on brownfields redevelopment, groundwater/soil characterization and remediation, landfill engineering, or water resources
• Write and review technical reports and proposals
• Assist with project management activities
• Mentor and train technical staff and ensure quality work products

Requirements:

• BS in Engineering
• Minimum 8 years of experience with environmental/remediation services, including technical writing, technical oversight, project management, business development, and staff management
• Experience with manufacturing, utility, oil & gas, municipal (including landfills) sites; petroleum and chlorinated solvent contaminants and Potentially Responsible Parties (PRP) groups
• California PE required
• Proven track record in business development and project management experience
• Experience mentoring and developing staff
• Strong technical writing skills and the ability to successfully multi-task
• Safety mindset and awareness and a good record and understanding of safe work practices
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
• Valid driver's license required
• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
• Master's degree is preferred
