CS Group USA is a key player in the development and certification of safety-critical systems in the aerospace industry. The Compliance & Quality Assurance Engineer will contribute to the certification of safety-critical avionics systems and work closely with senior SQA engineers to ensure compliance and quality assurance.
Responsibilities:
- Support DO-178C and DO-254 certification activities (SOI-1 through SOI-4) across multiple programs, working closely with senior SQA engineers
- Assist in preparation, review, and refinement of certification artifacts (PSAC/PHAC, SDP/HDP, SVP/HVP, SCMP/CMP, etc.) to ensure consistency and quality
- Develop, review and accept Quality Assurance Plans (SQAP/HPAP) to ensure certification compliance
- Perform SQA audits, compliance checks, and support gap tracking between planned processes and actual execution
- Understand, update, and maintain QMS systems in compliance with ISO9001, AS91000, and other equivalent industry standards in addition to ensuring compliance to customer specific standards
- Support day-to-day certification execution, including:
- Organizing deliverables
- Tracking review comments and closures
- Maintaining certification evidence packages
- Participate in configuration management and change control activities (e.g., CCB, baseline tracking)
- Assist in preparing for customer, DER, and internal audits
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure certification requirements are properly implemented and understood
- Learn and support traceability activities (SRQ/HLR/LLR/test/evidence)
- Contribute to improving internal SQA processes, templates, and workflows to enable repeatable certification execution
- Shadow and learn from senior SQA engineers to build deep knowledge of FAA certification approach and tools
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Software, Systems, Electrical)
- 3 to 8 years of experience in software engineering, software quality, or system engineering
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle and documentation practices
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to learn quickly in a structured, process-driven environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across engineering and program teams
- Willing to work independently and coordinate with technical teams. Able to work directly with customers
- Willingness to grow into a long-term certification and SQA role
- U.S. citizenship required; dual citizenship must be disclosed
- Good experience in SQA and certification in aerospace/avionics
