Reddit is a community of communities, and they are seeking a thoughtful, high-impact Staff Product Designer to join their Growth Design team. This role involves shaping how users discover Reddit and engage with the platform through effective design strategies and high-visibility experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Lead through ambiguity by turning broad business problems into clear design strategies, phased plans, and actionable scopes across the Growth portfolio
- Drive end-to-end growth work not just as a single-feature owner, but as a designer shaping the broader engagement system
- Shape high-visibility experiences across both Reddit-owned and partner surfaces, ensuring Reddit is represented with clarity, quality, and strategic intent
- Use coding tools like Cursor or similar environments to build high-fidelity, functional prototypes that feel real, use real data, and help de-risk complex ideas before they ship
- Act as a strategic partner to Product, Engineering, and Design leadership, helping influence priorities and connect rapid experimentation to longer-term product direction
- Present multiple design directions with confidence to senior and executive leadership, using data-driven insight, strong product judgment, and design intuition to support your recommendations
- Maintain a high bar for visual and interaction design while helping raise the bar for the broader organization through systems thinking, reusable patterns, and new components that scale for Growth and the rest of Reddit
- Translate complex data, user behavior, and experiment results into simple, compelling narratives that build confidence with executive stakeholders and create momentum around the right product bets
Requirements:
- 8-10+ years of product design experience, ideally in growth, platform, or high-scale consumer technology environments
- Proven ability to operate at Staff scope, driving impact beyond a single team or feature area and influencing product direction across a broader portfolio
- Proficiency in prototyping via code using tools like Cursor, along with a belief that the best way to test an idea is to build it
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates mastery of craft, systems thinking, and measurable impact on acquisition, conversion, retention, or other core growth outcomes
- Comfortable working in an environment defined by rapid iteration, A/B testing, and pivoting based on performance data
- Exceptional storytelling, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex ideas into compelling narratives for senior and executive-level reviews
- Strong judgment and leadership presence, with the ability to navigate complexity, create clarity, and influence cross-functional teams through ambiguity
