Marketeq Talent is seeking a Full-Stack AI Engineer Intern with a focus on frontend development. The role involves building user interfaces, integrating APIs, and using AI-assisted development tools to support the implementation of frontend solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Build frontend screens from Figma designs using AI-assisted workflows such as Claude CLI, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, MCP tools, or similar tools
- Translate Figma designs into responsive, production-ready frontend implementation
- Support frontend implementation across development, staging, and release workflows
- Use AI-assisted coding tools to generate, review, debug, refactor, and finalize frontend and full-stack implementation work
- Integrate frontend screens with backend APIs and authentication flows
- Handle loading, error, empty, validation, permission, and edge-case states
- Maintain and extend frontend components, design systems, responsive layouts, backend integrations, and project conventions
- Use repository documentation, project context, and AI tools such as Claude CLI, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, and MCP tools to understand the codebase and complete implementation tickets
- Debug frontend, backend, API, authentication, data flow, and integration issues
- Self-test work before QA handoff, including user flows, edge cases, API behavior, and acceptance criteria
- Think through broken flows, failed API calls, invalid inputs, permission issues, and unusual user behavior before submitting work
- Contribute to ticket documentation, implementation notes, API notes, and AI workflow notes
- Write clean PRs with clear testing and implementation details
- Receive feedback through code reviews, staging reviews, implementation walkthroughs, and QA handoffs
Requirements:
- Current Master's degree students or Master's graduates only
- Current U.S. residents
- Hands-on experience with frontend development, full-stack integrations, and AI-assisted coding tools
- Minimum 2 years of frontend development experience (coursework, internships, freelance work, projects, bootcamps, or shipped products)
- Strong experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript
- Experience with at least one modern frontend framework (React, Next.js, Vue, Svelte, Angular, or similar)
- Experience translating Figma designs into responsive frontend interfaces
- Experience building responsive layouts for desktop, tablet, and mobile
- Experience with component libraries, design systems, reusable components, or Storybook-style documentation
- Experience with frontend state management (React state, Context API, Redux, Zustand, TanStack Query, Apollo Client, or similar)
- Experience connecting frontend screens to backend APIs and consuming REST or GraphQL APIs
- Basic full-stack understanding (APIs, authentication, databases, services, deployment environments)
- Familiarity with authentication flows (OAuth, JWT, sessions, role-based access)
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude CLI, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools
- Ability to use AI tools to generate code, then review, debug, refactor, and validate before submitting
- Comfort with technical documentation, architecture notes, implementation plans, and existing codebase patterns
- QA-minded approach with ability to self-test work before QA handoff
- Comfort working with Git (branches, commits, PRs, code reviews)
- Ability to work independently, read documentation, and solve problems while asking thoughtful questions
- Portfolio, GitHub, or frontend/full-stack work samples for review
- Frontend-strong candidates who can also handle full-stack integrations
- Hands-on experience using Claude CLI, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI coding tools
- Candidates who can use AI tools effectively while understanding the code they ship
- Comfort guiding AI tools with technical documentation, repository context, implementation plans, and existing code patterns
- Strong UI judgment and attention to visual detail
- Ability to compare implementation against Figma designs and identify layout, spacing, typography, responsiveness, and interaction issues
- Understanding of frontend/API integration, authentication flows, validation, API states, and error handling
- Ability to debug AI-generated code instead of blindly trusting it
- Ability to test work before requesting review
- Ability to think through user flows, edge cases, failed API calls, invalid inputs, permissions, and data limitations before submitting work
- Candidates who do not treat QA as the first line of defense for obvious frontend or integration issues
- Clear documentation skills for assumptions, edge cases, implementation notes, and limitations
- Comfort working within an existing codebase instead of rebuilding systems from scratch
