Viatu is a next-gen travel platform that simplifies the planning and booking of complex itineraries. As a Product Manager, you will lead the management and development of the supplier portfolio, ensuring competitive product offerings and strong supplier relationships while collaborating with various teams to enhance the traveler experience.
Responsibilities:
- Supplier Onboarding and Management: Spearhead supplier onboarding (hotels, activities, rentals, airlines) and negotiate contracts to secure favourable terms. Build strong supplier relationships for long-term collaboration
- Supplier Expansion & Sales Team Collaboration: Grow our product portfolio aligned with Viatu's strategy. Source new suppliers and strengthen existing partnerships at travel conferences. Craft compelling trip offerings for our website and equip the sales team to champion our suppliers and drive sales
- Team Training and Knowledge Sharing: Equip the Viatu team with in-depth supplier knowledge through targeted training (workshops, trips, eLearning) and collaborate with suppliers to expand the training academy
- Content management, curation and optimisation: Actively manage and optimise the supplier and destination content across our various digital outlets including the website, our quoting tool, traveller guides and training materials
- Leadership collaboration: Contribute to cross-functional strategy development across marketing, product, customer experience, tech, and sales
Requirements:
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, with a structured approach and strong ownership of your work from planning to execution
- Strong critical thinking skills, with the confidence to question processes and contribute to continuous improvement
- Skilled at building strong, lasting relationships with partners and colleagues by combining empathy, clear communication, and a collaborative mindset
- Experience working with CRMs or project management tools
- 2+ years of experience in the travel industry, ideally within marketing, product management, or operations
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, tourism, or a related field
- Genuine passion for travel, particularly African destinations, wildlife, and culture, and a willingness to travel for supplier visits and team meetups
- Previous experience in a fast-paced startup
- Additional languages are a big plus
- Deep product and destination knowledge of African destinations
- Extensive travel experience in Africa
- Working knowledge of the Google Suite and Wetu
- Sales experience
